Enjoy a traditional tea ceremony in a private tea room located in the instructor’s home — a Kyoto-born tea master. This is a unique opportunity to glimpse into the daily life of a local Kyoto resident while experiencing the art of tea in an authentic setting.
You will be served high-quality matcha from Uji and seasonal dry sweets (higashi) from long-established confectioneries in Kyoto.

The class lasts approximately 1 hour.

Tea ceremony is not just about drinking tea and eating sweets. Enjoy the tea ceremony experience in the home of a locally born Kyoto instructor, in a classroom where even locals attend.
Appreciate the hanging scrolls and utensils that you can only see here, and relish the stories and seasonal arrangements that you can only here. In this tea ceremony experience, it's not just a simple class designed for tourists; even those who have previously experienced other tea ceremonies in Kyoto can find it enjoyable. Moreover, you have the opportunity to inquire about ikebana (flower arranging) with the instructor, who is also a qualified ikebana teacher, and ask any questions you may have.
Feel free to ask anything you're curious about, and savor the tranquility of a completely private setting. After enjoying the tea made by the instructor during the demonstration, you'll have the chance to prepare your own tea.

Important Notes
★ Children aged 12 and under, including those who are 12 years old, are not permitted to participate in this class. If you bring a child without prior notice on the day of the class, you will not be allowed to attend, and no refund will be issued. Thank you for your understanding.
★ Kimono rental is not included.
★ You are welcome to take photos during the lesson.
★ Video recording is not allowed during the instructor’s demonstration.
★ Please wear or bring socks. If you arrive barefoot, socks are available for purchase for an additional fee.
★ To preserve the delicate atmosphere of the tea room and the taste of the tea, we kindly ask you to refrain from wearing perfume.
★ As you will be seated on tatami mats for approximately one hour, we would like to you to come wearing comfortable long pants or a long skirt. Short skirts or shorts are not allowed, as they may damage the tatami mats.
★ Chairs and cushions are available upon request for your comfort. Please let us know if you would like to use them.
★ Please note that during peak seasons — such as New Year holidays, spring and summer vacation periods, and the busy autumn season — the class fee may be adjusted to reflect peak season pricing. Thank you for your kind understanding.
